Adam Smith was born in 1983 in ever-shrinking rural Pennsylvania in a small town called Worcester.
He has always been drawing and creating things. As a boy, when his mother wouldn’t allow him to have toy guns he was left to his wits to fashion them out of his legos. This inherent creativity lasted through high school and eventually led him to the Savannah College of Art and Design. He began his college career as an animation major then realized that he was born to create by getting his hands dirty and switched to the metals and jewelry department where he graduated in 2005 with a BFA.
Through his work Adam’s effort is to capture and honor all things human…joy, pain, faith, death, history, humor. These things are commonalities among all people. He just wants us to slow down and remember where we came from.
